Widgets + Menus
If you didn’t import the Sample Content, you’ll need to set up your menus and widgets manually.
Additionally, as you get your site set up, you’ll want to fill the widget and menu areas with your content. You’ll find Widgets from your Admin Menu, Appearance > Widgets. And menus similarly, Appearance > Menus.
Here are the details of what the backend of the widgets in the demo site looks like:
You can find the homepage of your site from Pages > Homepage.
Here’s how the Homepage of the Demo site is set up:
setting up sharing icons
The Splendid Theme demo features Sharing Icons at the bottom of each post. To set this up, go to Settings > Sharing.
Drag the buttons of what you want to show from the Available Services section to the Enabled Services section. You can rearrange them there, as well, and you’ll see a preview below. Choose Icon only, change the sharing label if you would like (the words before the icons), and if you’d like, choose to show the buttons on the Front Page (which means the main page of the blog — all of your posts; not your homepage) and/or the Posts Page (Single Posts pages.)
You can play around with those settings to make them work for you!
Setting up Related Posts
The demo also features Related Posts at the end of each post on the Single Post pages. To set this up, go to Settings > Reading and scroll down until you see the image below.
Follow these settings to make it look like the demo, or use what works for you!
